 Travis is the owner & operator of Good Shepherd Training Solutions, LLC.    He was born and raised in West Virginia and after high school, he enlisted in the military where he served a combined eight years in the Air Force as a Security Forces Member and later in Army Aviation as a Black Hawk Crew Chief.  After he was honorably discharged, he began his civilian law enforcement career with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.  Family obligations brought him back to West Virginia where he joined the sheriff’s office in 2004.  While at the sheriff’s office, Travis specialized in various law enforcement disciplines including Crimes Against Children, SRT (SWAT) Commander, Undercover Drug Investigations, and Major Case Investigator.  While he was assigned as a Major Case Investigator, several of his successful homicide investigations were internationally recognized and featured in publications such as Fox News, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Germany’s Bild, The United Kingdom’s The Independent, and Oxygen Network’s Snapped - Killer Couples, to name just a few.  

Travis retired from the sheriff’s office as a Captain in 2024.  Since then, he has been an investigator with the State of West Virginia and is an independent consultant for federal EEO investigations.

Travis is certified to teach various specialties including Interview and Interrogation, Leadership, Active Shooter Response, and Basic & Advanced SWAT.

Travis has four adult children and lives with his wonderful wife, Faye.
